The Foundation for Excellence By-Laws state:  The purpose of the Foundation is to receive and administer funds for scientific, educational, and charitable...

The purposes for which the Corporation is organized shall be confined to those which are strictly scientific, educational, or charitable.

The Grant Allocation Committee shall consist of at least three Trustees and the Superintendent of Watonga Public Schools or designate.

A Watonga School Board representative should be designated as a referral source towards school related issue and other grant application items that may be covered under the Watonga School budget.

The Foundation Committee will attempt to Grant equal value to the Watonga Grade School, the Watonga Middle School, and the Watonga High School on an annual basis.  (The Eagle Academy is considered to be part of the Watonga High School.)

For Grant requests, the Foundation Committee will consider such items as, the number of students affected by each Grant application, the cost of each Grant application, and the probability for future use of the item.

All Foundation grant requests will be confidentially submitted to the Watonga Superintendent’s office by September 15th of the current year.  The completed Grant requests will be picked up by the Chairman of the Grants Allocation Committee at that time.

After the Committee meets and determines the allocation schedule, a grant recipient list will then be presented to the Watonga Superintendents office to be forwarded to the Watonga School Board for final approval.

Form letters indicating whether Grant requests have been accepted or declined will be mailed and/or delivered to submitters.  Awards will then be made to recipients at a time and date specified by the Foundation Board.

By policy of the Foundation, Grant guidelines specify that playground equipment, sports equipment, etc., do not qualify for these educational Grants.

Annually, the Foundation awards up to $5,000.00 in Educational Grants.

Individual Grants have ranged in the past from $76.00 to $1,999.00.
